Lona"Lonie" Melvin PEOPLES Lonie was born in 1895 in Missouri and died June 28, 1946 in Coos Bay, Coos Co, OR. Lonie's parents were Oliver Mason PEOPLES and Grace INGE.

Lonie and Elmer both died in a boating accident on 28 Jun 1946, leaving four children. They were buried in Lacomb Cemetery, Lacomb. Linn County, OR.

  1. Victor Leon BARTRUFF Victor was born on 26 Mar 1921 in Lacomb, Linn County, OR. He died on 21 Nov 1950, at the age of 29, in a logging accident and was buried with his parents in Lacomb Cemetery. In addition to being a logger, Victor owned and operated a mint and berry farm. He was a member of the U.S. Naval Reserve during WWII. Victor and his wife Juanita K. KEEBAUGH had two children, Victor Jr. and Cynthia.
  2. Marian BARTRUFF Marian born April 15, 1930 in Lacomb, OR and died on 12 Feb 2010 in Springfield, Lane County, OR.  She married Robert George SPOONER ( 26 Jul 1919 - 4 Mar 1998, Jefferson County, OR) in July 1948 in Lacomb, Or.
  3. Grace BARTRUFF Grace was born November 13, 1918 in Lacomb, OR. She married Len Edwards on 17 Apr 1938. Grace and Len had two daughters.
  4. Reverend Bryce O. BARTRUFF Bryce was born February 06, 1926 in Lacomb, OR. He married Harriet A. SNYDER (1926 - 2005), daughter of Christian U. SNYDER. (4)

Snyder, Christian U., son of Jacob and Rebecca (Burkhart)Snyder, was born at Ayr, Neb., Mar. 12, 1886; died at Columbine Manor, Salida, Colo., Aug. 23, 1976; aged 90 y. In 1907 he was married to Mary E. Kauffman, who preceded him in death. Surviving are 2 sons (Kenneth W. and Donald W.), 3 daughters (Irva ­ Mrs. Paul Vandiver, Inez ­ Mrs. Clayton Diener, and Harriet Mrs. Bryce Bartruff), 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by 2 daughters, one son, and one grandson. He was a member of the Glenwood Springs Mennonite Church. Funeral services were held at Hastings, Neb., Aug. 27, in charge of Bryce Bartruff; interment in Roseland Mennonite Cemetery.
